Greetings and salutations folks – my apologies that the posts have been few and far between over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been juggling a number of different projects and as a result my blog has fallen by the wayside. I’m now almost completely caught up so should be posting a little more regularly, if not every day, at least every second day.
So what’s on the front burner right now?
Well, one thing mainly. Jocie and I have got Island Nature to a point where we’re satisfied with the look of the site and now are starting to add stories and photographs to the site. Island Nature is an on-line magazine that features writers and photographers on Vancouver Island. The concept behind the magazine is to provide both locals and visitors with a source of good natural history information about where to go, when to go, and what to see on the Island. We’ve got some great naturalists helping us out with articles but can always use more! If you live on Vancouver Island (or have visited here) and are interested in publishing a nature related article let me know.
Anyhow, thanks for your patience. Check back tomorrow when I profile my birding trip to Iona last weekend (where did the time go?!). In the meantime, pop over to Island Nature to read about Mike Yip’s encounter with a Rusty Blackbird. Cheers!

Island Nature looks to be an excellent on-line magazine. I had never heard of the Rusty Blackbird and enjoyed the story.
Thanks Carol – it’s amazing how much time setting something like this up takes! We’ve got some pretty neat articles (photographing sandstone on DeCourcy, sasquatch, and more) coming up this month and I’m hoping that it will continue to build as time goes on. Appreciate your feedback – I’ll let Mike Yip know you liked the article. Make sure to visit his Vancouver Island Birds web site to see more of his stunning photographs!
Cheers,
Dave
